Wal-Mart redux: An addition to yesterday’s entry
by Clinton Thomas
Wednesday, April 30, 2008

I have a quick follow-up for yesterday’s post about Wal-Mart.

But first, a recap: Wal-Mart (and Sam’s Club) will cash all stimulus checks free of charge, while giving customers the option to keep the cash or load the money onto a Wal-Mart MoneyCard. For more details, scroll down a bit and read the old post.

Now here’s the update. A public affairs rep from Wal-Mart shot me an e-mail last night to thank me for yesterday’s post. He also pointed out that the Wal-Mart MoneyCards can be used at any business that accepts Visa.

The e-mail brought good news on multiple levels. For the public, it means the program provides more convenience than I previously thought. For me, it means people actually read this blog outside the St. Joseph area. And for those of you that read the blog and are unsure whether to make a comment, I hope this post proves that we listen.
