Microsoft's Yahoo buyout picks back up

Yahoo Inc.'s share rose in lue of a report by the Wall Street Journal that said Microsoft has been trying to team up with other media outlets to purchase the search engine giant.

The story reported that Microsoft have held talks with News Corp. and Time Warner Inc. along with other companies to complete the proposed deal.

This is the first big news to come out of this story since Microsoft withdrew their original bid of $47.5 billion in May.

The Journal said that Microsoft will still go forward and purchase Yahoo's search business, and allow the other media outlets to buy up the rest of the company.

It will be very interesting to see how long Yahoo will be able to fight out Microsoft, especially now that it looks like they are trying to come in with a little more help.
