Who doesn’t like Obama?

I’d like to know who of you doesn’t like Obama? Are you looking at the color of his skin or the man within? Let’s put some morals back in the White House. Anyone who listened to his Father’s Day speech, any fool can have a child, that doesn’t make them a father. All those running him down must be one of those fools.

Waste of our money

I just happened to be driving by the East Hills Shopping Center, and I can see where all the taxpayer benefits are going. They’re going to make the place look pretty from the outside, which does absolutely nothing for the inside or to make it more attractive for retailers to come in. This is just a joke. For our city fathers sitting on the council, way to go St. Joe.

Duller and duller

I enjoyed your pro and con article yesterday on religion and being exempt from taxes. I have not read much of your Sunday editorial lately. Ever since you redid the paper, it doesn’t seem to me to be much of an interest.

More than drinking

I was looking at St. Joe Live this Friday morning again. All it seems like is in it is nothing but about drinking and bars. Isn’t there anything else in St. Joe to do but do that? I think you’d better change it.

Stuck in the middle

This is about the senior tax. I am hoping that it is not exclusively for low-income seniors. They already get breaks with housing, food stamps, help on utilities, etc. What about the rest of us “average” income seniors? Hopefully it will be for all people under $25,000 annual income or some amount that picks up some of us that get no other benefits. Your average seniors are always the ones being penalized. You are not low enough to qualify for the extra help and not high enough to not need it. How about some breaks for your average middle-class seniors?

Walk somewhere else

This is concerning the walkers. It never ceases to amaze me with all the new walking trails we have that people continue to walk the boulevard, especially along Corby Pond and Northwest Parkway. Sometimes they are walking two or three wide, chatting, pushing baby strollers, walking their dogs, etc. With all the curves and the sun shining in your eyes, it is very dangerous for everyone. Walkers, please give us drivers a break and please use the trails. It would be much safer for all of us.

Don’t burn the house down

This is in regard to large fireworks. I think a lot of us have had those large things. It sounds like dynamite going off. And they land in your yards. And if they don’t burn your roof down, you’ll be lucky. And yet people still say they should shoot off fireworks. Little kids don’t love those things. They’re unsafe and they’re illegal. They shouldn’t be sold, and they shouldn’t be bought. I know the police get calls on them, and how can they tell where they come from. You would think that people would have more concern than that for their neighbors and their own house, even when they are renting them. I wouldn’t think they would want to burn them down. Like everybody, I sure will be glad when this Fourth is over.

To Who Doesn't Like Obama: Having lived over 2 decades in the Middle East and bearing witness to the mindset of many Muslims, I can tell you emphatically that putting Obama in office would be seriously detrimental to the future of the United States. When will people realize that it has nothing to do with the color of his skin, rather it has to do with his proclaimations. Open the doors and let the terriorists move in - remember you asked for it!

To Who Doesn't Like Obama: I have no problem with him being half black. My problem is with the man within. I have no clue what the "man within" stands for. All I hear is the same claptrap speeches day after day. My question is, what has this man done that qualifies him to lead this country?

I don't like Obama. Don't agree with a lot of what he says and I am already tired of paying high taxes. Take a close look at what little information he has given out and it doesn't take long to realize that he is going to take money away from me and I receive no benefit from it. And of course that must make me a racist because I don't agree with you. The color of the man's skin has nothing to do with it.

I find it amazing the references to Obama always call him black. I guess that makes him half a man as he is also half white but that is always omitted.

To Who doesn't like Obama: I think it is extremely ignorant to assume that anyone who doesn't like Obama is racist or judging him by the color of his skin. I have two half black brothers and am by no means prejudiced. However I do not like where Obama stands on certian issues such as abortion. (That is a touchy subject and I don't want to get off topic)While there are some people who dislike Obama for his race, belive it or not some people actually care about the issues. Thats what is so great about America, we CAN disagree.

Re: Obama, there is no man within. He is an empty suit. He is a far-left parrot who will say and do anything to win the presidency. He keeps changing his ideals to suit the winds of change of the moment. His legislative record is miniscule, his lack of personal judgment for those he calls mentors and friends is chilling and he has no grasp of foreign policy. I could care less about his skin color, the man is an inept politician and morally ambiguous panderer.

Not only do I not like him, I can't stand Obama. He is nothing but a mouth-piece in a suit. He is taking advantage of his race and uses it as his number one campaigning tool. He has no leadership experience and will lead this country in a direction that quite frankly scares the crap out of me. If you consider me a racist simply because I don't like the guy then so be it. The fact is he hasn't got the necessary skills or experience to lead this country.

I see Obama has changed his mind on his stance regarding Iraq. It seems as though he is unable to make up his mind. Either that or he lied to everyone in the beginning of his campaign simply to gain votes. He is a man of change alright.....always changing his mind. The man doesn't deserve to be the president of a high school student government, much less the United States of America!

HIS TRUE COLORS ARE BEGINNING TO SHOW!!

There are plenty of blacks in American politics who I would support over Obama and vote for in a heartbeat. Former football player Lynn Swann ran for Governor of Pennsylvania. Former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele ran for the Senate and narrowly lost. Syndicated columnists Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams have been writing outstanding political columns for many years, as well as books. If Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas were running for President instead, I would absolutely support him.

My first impression of Obama is that he would be to the Presidency what Professor Harold Hill ("The Music Man") is to boy's marching bands. Now that we know some more about Obama, his associations with the odious Pastor Jeremiah Wright and Weather Underground terrorists William Ayres and Bernadine Dohrn disqualify him from any serious consideration for the Presidency as far as I'm concerned.

I will so be glad when the 4th is over. Fireworks go on sale and that is the day they begin to be set off. All day and all night. Are there no laws about fireworks here in St. joe? bottle rockets, cherry bombs and such all day and all night for days and days. I thought independence day was the 4th of July not the last week of June through the 10th of July. Are there no laws in St. Joe. And what about disturbing the peace after 10 at night? Are there no laws in St. Joe? I will be glad when it is over....
