First Presbyterian to welcome new pastor
The Rev. Krista Kiger will present her first sermon as pastor of First Presbyterian Church, 301 N. Seventh St., during the 10:30 a.m. worship service July 6.
Her topic will be “Fulfill Your Ministry,” and there will be a musical performance by the sanctuary choir, brass and percussion. A luncheon will follow the service. Reservations may be made by calling the church office at 232-3358. The cost is $7.50 for everyone 15 and older and free for everyone under 15.
The church also offers an adult Sunday School class at 9:15 a.m. and child care during worship. Christian education classes will begin in September for children and adults from 5:45 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.
All Power seminar coming
A one-weekend All Power seminar will come to St. Joseph next weekend, with an opening session scheduled to take place from 7 to 9:30 p.m. July 11 in the auditorium of St. Joseph Adventist Church, 5302 Mitchell Ave.
The event is sponsored by All Power Seminars, Inc., Mannatech, and Isagenix. The focus of the weekend will be teaching participants to take charge of their lives financially, physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. It will be led by Leo Schreven, a teacher of life mastery who has entertained audiences around the world for 24 years.
Harp and Bowl seminar scheduled
New Life Cathedral, 323 N. Eighth St., will host a Harp and Bowl seminar led by Mike and Ruth Matthews of Breakthrough Global Missions from 8 to 10 p.m. July 11.
The event is presented by Psalms 91 Outreach Center.The Harp and Bowl model of prayer is taken from Revelation 5, where the pattern of worship in heaven is shown. This model answers the prayer for God’s kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven and makes prayer enjoyable.

St. Joseph pastor to present book
Poems, prayers and photographs fill the Rev. Holly Rudolf’s new book, “By the Heartful: Seasons of Hope in Word and Image,” and it is in these that the Rev. Rudolf celebrates the essence of hope and the presence of God in life.
She will read from and discuss her book at 6 p.m. July 8 at Rolling Hills Library’s branch at 1904 N. Belt Highway She also will have books for sale at the event.

Ensemble to perform at First Presbyterian
The New Generation Singers will present a concert at 7 p.m. July 13 at First Presbyterian Church.
There will be a free-will offering to assist them for the costs of their tour. There also will be a reception in honor of them following the concert.
The New Generation Singers are a Christian ensemble from St. Joseph. The group is composed of approximately 100 area high school- and college-age youth from all over the region, from many churches and many denominations.
Each year, the ensemble builds a “Sermon in Song” that it shares in the summer with local churches, then goes on a two-week tour. Following this tour, the singers will prepare a Christmas concert that they will perform at Ashland United Methodist Church.

VBS at South Park UMC
South Park United Methodist Church, 2802 S. 19th St., will host a “Circle G Round-up” vacation Bible school from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. July 14 through 18.
