This Kansas City quintet may be a cover band, but they definitely keep things interesting. The group covers a wide variety of hard rock, playing songs by Metallica and Guns N’ Roses, but they are not afraid to bust out some Bryan Adams, Johnny Cash or Jimmy Buffett. They’ve managed to gain a respectable regional following by putting more into their live performances, including an extensive light set up, occasional crowd surfing and in the future, maybe even a little bit of fire breathing. It all just helps to separate Harvesting Jane from other cover bands, according to Grant Baldwin, the group’s booking agent.
“You can go out and play the jukebox if you want to hear those songs. We want to give you a show with it.” Harvesting Jane will perform at 10 p.m. tonight at The Rendezvous. Cover is $3.
