Outbreak alert
I’m calling in regard to the article about nursing homes not being ready for a pandemic. My concern is that average people are not prepared for pandemics either. We need to have two weeks’ worth of supplies. The health department has booklets that people need to have. Most of us are not ready, and we need to be.
Off the cuff
You know, Barack Obama is a very good speaker whenever he has a script someone else wrote. George Bush has never been a good speaker and has never claimed to be a good speaker. But Barack Obama, I have never seen anyone so bumbling and so illiterate when he does not have a script in front of him. There is something seriously wrong with him.
Nerd alert
I read where the goody-two-shoes state of Kansas would not allow slot machines at the Woodlands. Many Kansans still think that any form of gambling is shameful, and that is why we see casinos in that state located primarily on Indian reservations. It is no surprise to see that sweater-vest nerds still call the shots in Kansas.
Drain the swamp
This is in response to “Safe Haven.” I have a real simple solution for the sanctuary cities. If all federal funding was cut off to the states that have sanctuary cities because they were in direct violations of immigration laws, things would change real quick.
Revenue source
I don’t know if this is a current issue or not, but I know one way for St. Joseph to make a little bit more money if it needs to. They could charge these people for littering who leave up these old garage sale signs for weeks. If they don’t take down the garage sale sign, then they could be charged for littering or for somebody to have to come pick them up.
Fins are in
I seen in Wednesday’s paper where somebody called in about the fins on the back of cars. Well, my car came with the fin, and I didn’t have it put on there. It was on there when I bought the car. And if this guy doesn’t like it, then he must be jealous.
Revenue source.... I can not agree with you more! I was just thinking the same thing when I was turning on 42nd st at Pickett, the same signs have been there for a few weeks. I enjoy going to garage sales and have noticed this happens everywhere! How much easier could it be the address is right there!
Posted by Eric on July 24, 2008 at 3:53 p.m. (Suggest removal)To "Fins are in," I'm kind of partial to hood ornaments myself. I like hood ornaments and fins more than those great big rear spoilers you find on a lot of Mitsubishis and some other Japanese cars. Thanks for calling in!
