Fireworks business is booming
by Angela Smith
Monday, June 30, 2008

Fireworks stand owners are stocking around the clock to ensure your independence day is a blast! With only four days left until the 4th, Kovac's Fireworks' Sydni Kovac says business is really starting to pick up.

Flying off the shelves this year are the normal favorites like sparklers and roman candles, rockets and poppers. Another big hit is the Red Flood and a new firework called Sliders, which is geared toward kids.

If you'd rather not shoot off your own fireworks, the city is hosting its fourth annual Fourth of July celebration Friday night on the Missouri River.

The festivities will be held at the riverfront, by Terrible's Casino, starting around 7pm with live entertainment, concessions and end with the largest fireworks display in northwest Missouri just after dark.
