Quiznos open
by Jennifer Hall
Thursday, May 1, 2008

Everyone seems to be going crazy over the potential of Quiznos, Panera Bread and Jimmy John’s. I’ve never even stepped foot inside any of these sub shops except for an interview for a story I’m writing.

I think I’m going to make it my new goal for 2008 to try these new eateries.

Quiznos opened Wednesday in the Pony Express Plaza at Belt and Frederick. I haven’t called the owner Trevor Dryden yet to see how it’s going so far, but I may stop in to get a sandwich and see for myself.

Jimmy John’s has only begun renovations and Panera has been keeping the pace with other tenants in the plaza and already starting construction.

What type of place is Jimmy John's? Where are they planning to put the Panera Bread? Up at the North Villages too, I suppose?

Jimmy John's is a gourmet sub sandwich shop. Panera is locating at the Pony Express Plaza near Belt and Frederick.

The wife and I ate at Quizno's Saturday night. It was extremely good, but very pricey. I think they have less expensive sandwiches so I look forward to trying them out again.

Panera Bread is awesome! They have some of the best sandwiches and bakery goods I have EVER tasted. I'm very excited about them opening here.

I have never been to a Jimmy John's, but their radio commercials from KC are hilarious. I look forward to trying them.

panera is strictly out-of-a-can fare. the bread is processed and glutinous. blech. go to magoon's is you want a good sandwich!

Panera bread is the best in pastries. Quizno's is the best sub in the business. A bit pricey, but worth every bite. They should have no trouble spanking Subway and the tight attitude the owner has there. The St Joe Subway finally ran a national special. That's a first. Might have something to do with the owner's (Subway) attitude that I don't have to run the national specials (2 for 1 Tuesday and special prices on Sundays) because the suckers in St. Joseph will come anyway. Let's see if he still has that smug attitude with some competition coming.
