It's Your Call, October 6, 2008

Cat got

his tongue

I would like to know who is running for president, McCain or Palin? Did the cat take his tongue? Can he do his own talking? He only talks when he says things he shouldn’t say. I don’t think he’s man enough to talk.

Tax question

Something has been bothering me: I was just wondering, where do businesses get the money to pay taxes? Does it appear by magic at the time when they have to pay, or do they get it out of the cost of their goods or what? If anybody knows, I would appreciate somebody letting me know.

Sounding wrong

Close proximity. We seem to come across that phrase often these days. It really sounds neat. But I learned early in life you never, never, never put those two words together. So no matter how neat the phrase sounds, to me it just sounds wrong, wrong, wrong.

Debt free

and happy

Every four years, when it’s time to elect a president, the cry for a change rings out. What the average American won’t admit is that the average American needs to change. As a Christian, I knew better than to owe anyone. I am now 63 years old and don’t have one credit card and don’t owe anybody. There might be some things that I might want and don’t run out and get right away, but I don’t owe anybody. And I am a very happy person.

Over and over

It is sad to see that those powerful TV newsmen have picked the candidate they want elected. Now we are forced to watch them tilt the table and do all they can to help their guy. They investigate one side but not the other. They repeat their guy’s name over and over so you won’t forget it. This year, 2008, that’s the year TV journalism died in America.

Proud of vets

Today I attended a military funeral, and I wanted to thank all military personnel. The armory, the people who do the military funerals, they look sharp. The old World War II veterans, I praise them. And again, if anybody ever attends a military funeral, you should take time to thank our veterans.

Two kinds

of bushes

In the Bible, Moses talked to the burning bush, which was God, who gave him the Ten Commandments. We, the people of the United States, have the lying Bush.

I knew a Persian cat that ate canned tongue, but can't say any more because tigersfan might find it racist.

Two bushes,
With intelligent commentary like that, who dialed the phone for you to make your call?

Tax question

Probably the same way you and I do or it came out of that credit line before the big bailout?

Debt free and happy

So, are you saying that there are some average Americans that need to become Christians?

Two kinds of bushes

Might not be much to brag about but ole George is more popular than the congress. Guess who leads that mess? It ain't no burning bush! Its a forest fire!

Over and over, you said it. The media picked our next president already. They want Obama, so Obama it will be. Fox tilts the bar a bit more even, but they are out numbered. ALL of them should really report fair and impartially on both of them. Its really a little sickening. Really, I am more tired of the news and how they do their reporting than I am either of the two candidates or their veeps combined. They brain wash people! Although I will admit that SNL skit of the VEEP debate was hilarious. But then again, that is an entertainment show, not the news.

Debt free - I bet it is a big relief, I remembered that was the first thing my parents wanted to do, is owe nobody. I can remember the day my Dad paid off the house mortgage. He said some day I would understand, and now I do...I can't wait to be there someday myself.

suzyQ: If more people would learn to think for themselves instead of blindly trusting whatever the TV tells them it wouldn't be as much of an issue. Not saying you're wrong in that the news should be fair, just that the people have a responsibility to make sure they're informed. With the availability of internet there's no reason not to know exactly what each candidate's platform is and what they believe.

True At home people should be well informed, but believe it or not, there are still people in this day and age who don't have internet access and who still believe whatever comes out of some biased idiots piehole. Many people make themselves so-called "informed" by the media. Thats why they should report things fairly and impartially, but all too often you see someone obviously pushing their own agenda as well as "stir the pot" for rating purposes. They are part of the problem, a big part. And that goes for both ways, I plan to vote (so far) for McCain but i don't classify myself as a repub, and I cannot stand Rush Limbaugh (or Bill Maher) as well as a few others on both sides of the fence. I would like to watch the news and get informed, and not know who they are obviously for. I do like Glen Beck though, but mostly for entertainment purposes.
