Peter Principle

First of all, I want to say that I’m a woman and I would proudly support any woman whom I deemed qualified to hold high offices in our government. However, it frightens me very much to think about Sarah Palin being in the position of potentiality becoming the president of the United States. Frankly, I don’t see how John McCain can stand there with a straight face and declare that she’s well-qualified to be our president. If you’ve ever heard of the Peter Principle, this is a prime example of its application. And if you’ve never heard of it, I suggest you Google it and see what I mean.

Why bother?

I would like to know why we even bother to vote. The Supreme Court in 2000 chose our president, and it looks like ACORN is going to choose our president in 2008. There’s so much fraud going on. There are 13 states that they are investigating for voter fraud. I don’t think that ACORN has the right to pick our president any more than the Supreme Court did in 2000.

Black October

I’m calling in response to the downturn on Wall Street from all of the crashes that have been going on since the first of the month. Instead of calling last Monday Black Monday, at the rate it’s going, we ought to start calling it just plain Black October.

Does the pin make the man?

The Republicans have had so much to say about Obama not wearing an American flag pin and calling him a non-American. And I noticed the other night that McCain didn’t have a flag pin on. And I notice on Charlie Gibson’s show, he didn’t have a flag pin on. And I was wondering, does this mean that he’s ashamed of America and that makes him anti-American?

Don’t ask me

My mailbox overflows with solicitations from both parties for donations to their campaigns. And they don’t start at any less than $25. I don’t have $25 to hear you talk. I pretty much know your platform by now. You knew that when you got in this campaign, it would cost money. So if you can’t run with the big dogs, get out of the race. Elections were run years ago without TV and the media hype. Yes, people did get elected. It was called personal contact. And I wonder, if you can’t handle your campaign expenses, how will you handle the economy and the nation’s welfare? Don’t ask me as a taxpayer to pay for it.

why bother
ACORN has turned in over 1.3 million questionable voter registrations nationwide, 53,500 in Missouri alone. Most of the financing for this nefarious activity came from contributions from the Obama campaign.

Source: New York Times, Oct. 10, 2008

(An) $832,598 payment was made in February by the Obama campaign to Citizens Services Inc., a consulting firm affiliated with Acorn.
The Obama campaign initially reported that the payment was for “staging, sound, lighting” and other advance work when it reported its expenditures with the Federal Election Commission. It filed amended reports in August and September to reflect that those payments were for get-out-the-vote efforts.
Citizens Services typically contracts with Acorn and its affiliates for work like that done for the Obama campaign. Mr. Goldberg, the Acorn spokesman, said that less than $80,000 of the Obama campaign’s payment to Citizens Services went to Acorn. Jeff Robinson, executive vice president of Citizens Services, did not return a call inquiring how the rest of the money was spent.

i agree with don't ask me... and think about how much money is spent on these campaigns! the country could do a lot with that money... but instead people are spending it on a popularity contest.. hey lee greenwood, are you still proud to be an american?

The last time I saw Lee Greenwood he was on a dusty Dixie road, carrying a load, but still proud of the USA (unlike Dixie Chicks, Rev. Wright and Michelle).
