Police are seeking a white man who robbed the Taco John’s on the North Belt Highway early Tuesday.

A white male with blue eyes entered the fast-food restaurant, 2205 N. Belt Highway, at about 12:20 a.m. Tuesday wearing a blue bandanna and a dark hooded sweatshirt, said Capt. Kevin Castle, a spokesman for the St. Joseph Police Department. He accosted two female employees with a large knife and demanded money, Mr. Castle said. The victims gave an undisclosed amount of money, and the man took the purse belonging to one of the victims before leaving, he said.

The witnesses said the man weighed about 200 pounds and was of medium build, Mr. Castle said.

Police have recovered a store videotape. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Tips hot line at 238-TIPS.
