It's not quite coat season, but a local organization is in need of more than 3-thousand coats.
The Salvation Army's annual Operation Second Coat. is now underway and the army is asking for help and coats from area citizens. The non-profit organization is collecting coats to meet the need of the disadvantaged in our community during the winter season. Coats of all sizes are needed.
The coats must be clean and ready to wear. They ask that you donate coats that don't need buttons sewed on or repaired and that they have working zippers. Gloves, mittens and hats are also needed.
The warm clothes will be distributed Saturday, November 1st at the Salvation Army Community Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For more information, call the army at 232-5824.
