St. Joseph Transit Offers Night Rides
by Sarah Lawson
Friday, September 26, 2008

Night buses are now an essential part of the St. Joseph public transport system. The St. Joseph Transit will soon offer bus rides throughout the night. It's known as "Nite Ride" and 3 buses are going to operate from 9:15 p.m. to 5:15 a.m, Monday through Saturday morning, between designated residential areas and the three major industrial parks.

Kurt Janicek, the company's General Manager, says St. Joe transit was awarded a federal grant to help kick off the program. The company will receive $200,000 a year for 2 years to aid the program. St. Joe Transit established "Nite Ride" for individuals who work second and third shifts. "Night Ride" services begin October 1st.

Buses will operate from 9:15 p.m. to 5:15 a.m. You can find the bus stops and routes on literature at the bus stops or the City of St. Joseph's website: www.ci.st-joseph.mo.us.
