Ruining it

I saw the picture in the News-Press entitled “A trip down the Parkway: Work progresses on the hike and bike trail.” In looking at this and having experience in going down the Parkway and the construction or destruction that’s going on, I think perhaps the more appropriate title could have been “The rape of the boulevard.” Now I know that the urban trail is a good thing for hikers and bikers. But also the beauty of the boulevard/Parkway system untouched was wonderful, because you had the places you could go and have the deep shade. And that will no longer exist. Instead, we will have hillsides carved back into the earth and held up by retaining walls that we have constructed. Yes, I think it would be better entitled “The rape of the boulevard.” Because we cannot appreciate goodness as it happens in the natural order of things. We have got to improve, always improve.

Save Safety Town

I was sorry to read in Friday’s paper that Safety Town may have to shut down because of low enrollment. My daughter attended Safety Town 20 years ago and still remembers what a positive influence it had on her. Maybe it needs to be advertised better and more parents would be made aware of the positive impact it would make in their child’s life.

You only live once

I just want to say thank you to all of the people who give me smiles and tell me I’m a good mom. I have four small children, and when I take them to the store, I do have fun with them. I do act silly with them, and we do play games while we are shopping. It keeps them with me, and they never throw a fit. I have had people say I’m an idiot, but I don’t care. I have fun with my kids, and they are growing up so fast. So my comment is, if you have children, enjoy them and have fun. And it’s OK to act silly in public with them. And I do get laughs, too. That’s my enjoyment. Have fun. Live life and be happy. You only live once.

Causing tornadoes?

I do not mean to criticize the federal government or make fun of them in any way, but I have a little bit of education, and I have some beliefs, and I think they might find out that the stuff NASA is sending up there is causing some of these tornadoes and all this bad weather we’re having. If we were supposed to be up there, we’d have been born up there. We’re up there nosing around on Mars and all those places to see if there’s any life or anything, when we’d better be taking care of our own life here on Earth. We’ve got tornadoes and bad weather everywhere like we’ve never had before. It seems to me that they’re sending more of this stuff up there. I might be wrong — God help me if I am — but I believe there’s something to this.

Thanks alot, you let the cat out of the bag. Now we have to deal with black helicopters and the chance they might discover the space alien residing in city hall.

Alexander Pope said "A little learning is a dangerous thing". This caller proves it!

Causing tornadoes:

Hi. I wanted to let you know that I have a extra tinfoil hat I can sell you at a steep discount. You may think that you can make one of your own, but that is really the government telling you how to make it with subliminal radio waves into your head. Also protects against contrails. Anal probe protection is available for an extra fee.

Call me!
