Two St. Joseph women charged in Chillicothe prostitution sting
CHILLICOTHE, Mo. — Two St. Joseph women were arrested and charged Thursday after an investigation of alleged prostitution. Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox said a gentleman’s club located on U.S. Highway 65 in Chillicothe was reported to be open and conducting business and not in full compliance with the county’s ordinances. Undercover deputies reported entering the establishment on two occasions, where alleged violations for prostitution had taken place.

Suspect pleads guilty in Norris murder
Larry Norris’ family got to hear at least one side of the story as to how he died last Aug. 25. Michael Limley, 37, pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder in the death of Mr. Norris. Fire disrupts sunny day

But an afternoon fire filled a normally picturesque scene on Noyes Boulevard with smoke. St. Joseph firefighters responded to a structure fire just north of the intersection with Frederick Avenue. Reports put the address at 1043 N. Noyes. The blaze was deemed to be an electrical fire, a firefighter confirmed.

Two men were arrested Tuesday night in a counterfeiting raid in Atchison, Kan. Michael P. McGuire, 28, and Norman "Nicky" Ford, 36, were charged with making a false writing after law enforcement seized items of counterfeiting at 711 King St., , said Mike Wilson, chief of police for Atchison. Both men are from Atchison. Mr. Wilson said counterfeit $10 and $20 bills began showing up around town in the summer of 2009. The department was actively working those cases, which he said are time-consuming.
