Parking woes. Did you not pay attention to the test you took to get your drivers license? There are two no parking signs on each end of the block, which means no parking on that side of the street between the signs. Do you really need to have a no parking sign every 10 feet or so that that way you know not to park there.

As far as Obama. I consider myself as a Democrat, but not one with blinders. Obama has a lot to say, the problem is it's a lot of quantity, not quality. I could stand on that platform and say change, change, and more change. I would just like for once for him to actually say what he intends to change and how he will do it.

As far as mudslinging, and infidelity. Do you Republicans actually think only the Democrats have this problem? I would have to say 90% of power hungry individuals have similar issues. Granted the Dems are the ones who usually are the ones in the media regarding these issues, but you must take into consideration how you are informed of this. Ultraconservative republican bias AP news media will do anything to help their cause just like any other special interest group.

I agree we need to build up the south end of the belt. We need to take things into consideration. First, who are we going to get to work at these places? Our high school and college kids are tapped out. Adults with families can't afford to work at these places that want to profit 100% on each item, but pay $7.00ph. We need to bring something in with quality.

If we did go down the retail road, I think a Steve $ Berry's would be awesome. The closest one is at the Ward Parkway Mall in KC. It's a clothing store for kids and adults. Great place for jeans, college apparel, shorts, shoes, funny t-shirts, etc... The best thing is the most expensive thing I got there was a Cartharte style coat for 12.95.

On What do you want to see on the South Belt?

What a choice. I understand things are tight, but a gallon of gas will go a long way in a lawn mower. I think we should do something different. The city is so worried about people mowing there grass that they will do it for you at an outrageous price. I think we should be able to send them a notice when the city owned property's grass becomes higher that 7". Once the 9 days is up, go and mow it and send them an outrageous bill. Maybe then they will stop worrying about how to make a buck and start worrying about their responsibilities.

Rush, I agree with you. The kids are here, and unfortunately they are the ones that have to suffer due to lack of parenting. I also feel sorry for the grandmother. She has already raised here kids. As far as career welfare, that's our fault. One thing Clinton did do well when he was in office was passing the 2 years and out rule. Once an individual started collecting welfare they had 2 years to improve their situation and then they were done. Unfortunately the Bush Administration eliminated that rule as soon as they were in office.

I wish the rules would change as far as how much a person gets per child. I feel once you are on the system for each child you have after that you get a reduction of benefits, not a raise. Maybe that will help cut down on the so called "career welfare" recipients.

dalearch, Gore won the popular vote in Florida, Bush won the Electoral vote, which is the only vote that maters in Presidential elections. It's not the first time it has happened, 1948 Truman over Dewey. Dewey won the popular vote, Truman the electoral.

Alonzo, you start right off the bat saying "Damn it, here I am writing about race again". It's simple, just stop. I would like to see you actually write about something that is not a race issue. You are a very intelligent man, but can you actually report on something else for a change, or can't you.

Affirmative action started off with great promise until activist took it and ran with it the wrong way. I'm tired of people receiving preferential treatment just by playing the card. The black card, the female card, etc...

I understand this society stereotypes. Unfortunately, too many people live up to that stereotype. They learn how to live off the system, making more money than I due from the taxes that I, and other hard working American pays. Then they blame me for being on the system.

There is one sure way we could get rid of affirmative action and society would be better. If people would start being responsible for their own actions. Stop blaming everyone else for your problems that you got yourself into by making bad choices.

People say they didn't have the same opportunities as I did because they're black, or poor, or a woman. I say you had the exact same opportunities as I you just didn't choice to take advantage of them. I started off a Neely Elementary, as we know one of the poorest schools in St. Joe. I turned out just fine working hard at my career supporting my family with extra at the end of the month.

People just need to take responsibility for themselves. Have a little pride and work for what you have. Stop playing the "card" and defiantly stop listening to your hypocritical, card playing ignorance that keeps these hatreds stirred up.

Learn from you past weather it be yesterday or 400 years ago so you can plan for you future.

Rax, smoking is not a right, nor is it a privilage. It's a choice. Before you ask, yes I am a smoker. Not all smokers are inconsiderate. If I'm with friends or family that do not smoke i will not smoke around them. You complain how bad it is for you and your children to be around, and it limits the choices you have when going to resturants and entertainment. By you emposing your choice to ban smoking in public places just put a limit on my choices to dineout or entertainment. You complain now about how bad we smokers are. Can you imagine the taxes that Americans will have to pay if smoking was baned or made illegal. Right now smokers pay and average of $1.00 per pack just in taxes. Therefor those millions of dollars lost per week will have to made up some how and who do you think will pay for that. That's right we Americans, Smoking and nonsmoking. Think about that when you complain about you limit of choices.

"Don't tase me bro", are you that blind to the obvious? They may have been tased in the back, for what reason? Because they were stopped by the police and were told specific instructions on what to do, which they did not follow. It's obvious the police already had the taser out and aiming it at the suspect when the person decided to run.

First, if people would start doing what they're supposed to be doing they would not be stoped by the police. Second, if you are doing something your not supposed to be doing and get caught, man up and take responsibilty for your actions and do what the police say, then maybe you won't get tased.

Everyone wonders why our kids are so messed up these days. It's because our adults want to ack like kids and take no responsibility for their actions. Stop being your kids friends. Be their parents and hold them accountable for their actions. We should go back to the good ol days and put a boot in their butts, maybe that would get their attention.

Germando, I'm of German decent, but still enjoy the various holidays that other ethnicity have. I say if you want a holiday to celebrate German heritage then you should come up with one and start marketing it. Who knows, if might catch on in a couple hundred years.
