i adore sheehan, but decided long ago to cast my vote for schaaf because of his work to bring more competition to the area hospital environment by changing some of the exclusionary practices which heartland enjoys today.

looks like if there were another referendum today it might be a close call. i am all for competition but a city the size of st joseph needs a recycling program. in addition, having a garbage fee added onto the sewer/water bill would provide every household with garbage service. perhaps then there wouldn't be quite as many houses with mountains of trash stacked up in their back yards.

i just cannot support both an expo center and a convention center. since the downtown resurgence is finally taking hold in a visible and productive way, why on earth would st joseph want to spread already limited funds over another project? so we can have two half-axxed projects which are just under-funded enough to guarantee that both fail? councilmember boyer gets it.

i wonder if the paper could provide likely dollars spent by each venue, and which would tie in more effectively with existing projects? what level of income and education is drawn typically by these venues? stjo is endeavoring to attract a more sophisticated citizenry in order to better accommodate future industry ( as commented upon frequently by the chamber of commerce). wouldn't it be a good idea to fully fund the concept which would be most likely to not only bring in a tourist , but a well-heeled one?

what makes this city unique? her history. let us not ignore that valuable resource. spend money downtown.

this is a terrific opportunity for our community to be seen in an incredibly positive light, both nationally, and globally. i hope every citizen realizes that it is paramount for stjo to attract tourism commerce of this calibre. the people who compete at this level in any sport or hobby are able to recognize excellence. Lets Not Disappoint Them. one thing Each Person in this city can do is to stop littering . be part of the solution, go out and pick up just one bag of litter this week.

meaning that your assumption is possibly or probably incorrect. IF SOMEONE DRIVES DRUNK, DOES IT MAKE IT ANY MORE OR LESS REPREHENSIBLE IF THEY ARE OF A CERTAIN NATIONALITY OR LEGAL STATUS? of course not, silly rabbit.

youngrandma....."i am sure that the majority of illegals have a background that would get them deported if they went through a background check."? this is exactly the reasoning which really bothers me. if you intend to paint an entire group with the same brush, please provide documentation for that assumption.
