Steve-O,

If you don't want to pay the tax increase don't gamble. Its as simple as that. Not to mention its only a 1% increase. If "the average amount lost at Missouri’s casinos is about $70 per visit" thats only a 70 cent increase. Its not that much to ask for if you ask me. Plus the casinos actually pay the tax not you individually, the tax comes from the casino revenue!

Ninja_man,
Your comment makes me want to throw up.

Don’t get me wrong…I’m not disputing what you say about McCain or the fact that there are other important issues to look at in regards to this election, but the picture you try to make of people who do think that the second amendment is important is completely unjustified.

Just because someone owns a gun or hunts does not make them a wife beater, a drinker, or someone trying to prove just how much of a “man” they are. I am an avid hunter and gun owner and I am certainly not any of those things you mention. I choose to hunt for the sport and also to protect the crops and land that I work hard to cultivate everyday. I also own guns for the protection they afford me.

There are obviously other issues that you need to consider when referring to gun owners!

Whats the point of re-opening if it's not in the original building?!?!? That is what made that place special.

Granted there was a fire, but it didn't destroy the entire interior. Most of the main dining room wasn't even damaged beyond some smoke.

On Hoof & Horn may reopen

boombaladee:

I believe you said:

"....um, pot, meet kettle....." It seems this phrase now also applies to you.

You too don't seem to believe you could possibly be wrong either.

Don't get me wrong I'm not agreeing with Rax or with you for that matter but come on he's not the only one that appears to think he could never be wrong.

Grow More:

Your comments show just how little you know about farming!! There is a reason that land is put into conservation programs; if people continue to farm it there will be nothing left. Land is put into conservation to protect the soil, plants, and/or animals that live there. Just because a person has what you consider to be farmable land may not be suitable for that kind of farming.

I also would like to know who is going to pay these people that you suggest the farmers hire? Like it or not farming is a business; farmers just like any other business person want to be able to make a profit—or at least break even. How are they to do that if they are expected to hire more people? Many farmers work 80+ hours a week, have family working with them and still barely hit the break even point. It is not all “grow and rake in the dough” like so many people make it out to be.

--I also offer that the USDA recently stipulated that CRP land (conservation land) could be used for production, grazing etc. after the wildlife reproduction period is over for whichever wildlife is on your CRP land.

Might I just say AMEN to everything you both have said so far. It is good to know that I am not the only one who shares these sentiments and values. Great comments!!

I cannont think of a single redneck that would want to be called a liberal. Nor do I know any rednecks that want to be considered a liberal; all of them I know are very conservative in their views. Trust me I know quite a few. Maybe you could clarify for me a bit because quite honestly I'm baffled by your comment.

Dondill:
I am a female and proud to say I would never, ever vote for Hillary (that doesn't however mean that I like McCain or Obama either).

Who cares if those people of 6 of 8 are male or female. And since when is it such a horrible thing to be a "red neck"? The majority of this country is made up of those "red necks" you seem to view so poorly. Just because someone chooses to have a conservative view they are a "red neck" and uneducated? That is what your comment implies.

If it weren't for the "red necks" where would we be? The majority of the food you buy at the grocery store and place on your table to feed your family is produced by those very "red necks." Necessary repairs and physical labor you get--such as construction, auto repair, etc.--is done by those "red necks" you so oppose and think so little of. To me "red neck" is not a bad thing, I have a college education and do very well for myself in the business world--I can also rope a steer and pull a calf--I suppose I am just another one of those dumb red-necks myself! (Not to mention very proud of that fact too)
